Embedding music in the blog

I know two ways to add music to your blog. Either by embedding it with your post or by adding it as an HTML/Javascript widget via the "Add a Page Element" in the layout.

In either way, first you need to find an audio/music file hosted on the Web. You can either find the music files in a site like http://www.freemp3mail.com/ or you can upload music files you have stored on your computer to a file host like http://boomp3.com/

Once you did that, you need to copy and paste this code in your post editor window or in the HTML/Javascript window:
<embed src="URL of music"
width="150" height="40"
autostart="false" loop="false" />

Then paste the URL location of your music file.

You need to have the Quick Time plugin installed in your computer. I advise the Quick Time alternative because Apple's plugin won't work with Firefox whereas Quick Time alternative will work with both. You can get it here.

Here is an example. I linked to a music hosted in the freemp3mail.com site referred above.

Long time no see

Hello Pilgrims! I haven't visited the blog for a long time, but now I'm back! I use Facebook,so I've also seen the picture from Lorena! Nice to see you all again. I'm sure you had a great time getting together like that. Here in Sweden it's snowing and we have a couple of degrees below zero. I've been out throwing snow-balls with my daughter...A bit different from the south of Europe I'm sure...

Best wishes, Sofia

Spanish pilgrims together again

Yesterday afternoon Lorena, Rosanna, Lázaro, Fernando and the two Agustinas had a meal together in Alicante (Spain) as part of a meeting that we'd been trying to organise for months until we eventually found the right date.
More information on how it all went as well as photos of the event will come in a further post that Lorena will write. She promised to do so and wanted to do it herself, so I'll leave you* with the expectation :-D

* you= Joao (for sure) and maybe any other pilgrims who are still reading the blog in silence (I think one of them is Sophia... come on, don't be shy, say something! ha ha).

Hello Pilgrims,
It's fantastic that I can share all the photos and videos you posted there. Thank you for that.
The first week of the school year has just finished. It's difficult to adjust after two months holidays.
I'm looking back to Maidstone course during rainy days in Warsaw.
Here is the photo of a beautiful lake I visited at the end of August.

Where do you live?

Use the map to show us where you come from. Use your mouse wheel to zoom in the map and you can see the places quite in detail. I can even almost see my house. Zoom in as much as you can, look for "Montes de Alvor", then for the place "Urbanização Santo António de Alvor" There you may guess where two tennis courts are. Just in front of them is my house.

Greetings from Sweden

Hey everybody!

A short report from the northern part of Sweden!
It is definitely autumn now, during last week the morning temperature has been below zero. But, you get kind of spirited and alert when the air is this clear and fresh.

During our first schoolweek we went camping by the sea for three days which was lovely. We made walking tours and by the end of the days both pupils and teachers could take a swim. It was a bit cold but, still, refreshing! During our final evening we met two men from Italy (one of them was born in Novosibirsk!) which was really nice since our pupils immediatley got use of their English!

I wish you all a great start of this new school-year!

How the ‘Blog’ Can Change English Language Teaching

Hello Pilgrims!

This post is about Blogs in English Language Teaching. I thought it might be of interest to you, so I decided to share this document with you that seems quite interesting about the use of this technology in language teaching.

Social Bookmarking

Hello everyone!

Have you ever heard of social bookmarking? Maybe yes or maybe not. What is it? Social bookmarking allow you to store and share bookmarks on the web, instead of inside your browser. This has several advantages.

First, you can get to your bookmarks from anywhere, no matter whether you're at home, at work, in a library, or on a friend's computer.

Second, you can share your bookmarks publicly, so your friends, coworkers, and other people can view them for reference, amusement, collaboration, or anything else.

These are two reasons why social bookmarking is so popular. Are you already using it? If not yet, here are a few links to some social bookmarking sites. The most popular and easiest to use one is "delicious".

Try it out and the your web navigation will never be the same.
